EDDIE MORRIS BIOGRAPHY
Eddie Morris is a distinguished third-generation antiques dealer and appraiser with a rich family heritage in the field. Born in London, England, Eddie’s roots in the antiques business run deep, as both his father and grandfather were renowned antiques dealers in the same city. Eddie’s family eventually relocated to the United States, first to New York and later to Phoenix and Los Angeles, where he embarked on his own journey within the industry.
In 1985, Eddie established Duveen & Edwards as a sole proprietorship, which he later incorporated in California in 2003. His career has been marked by a diverse range of clients, including retail appraisal clients, financial institutions such as Bank of America/US Trust, and prominent corporate clients. His expertise extends to estate appraisals and IRS-related appraisals, demonstrating a deep understanding of the intricacies of the field.
During the early 2000s, Eddie expanded his business portfolio by owning and operating various retail antiques shops and an auction house. His collaborations with internationally acclaimed auction houses like Bonhams, Sotheby’s, and Christie’s have further solidified his reputation as a respected figure in the antiques world.
Currently, Eddie Morris is highly selective in his clientele, focusing primarily on providing appraisals for distinguished clients. Notably, all of his appraisals adhere rigorously to the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), and Eddie continuously updates his knowledge by completing yearly USPAP courses offered by the American Society of Appraisers. In addition to his commitment to professional standards, he is an esteemed member of the American Association of Independent Appraisers.
Eddie Morris’s unwavering dedication to the field of antiques and his exemplary adherence to professional standards make him a trusted and sought-after expert in the world of appraisals.
"Antiques are more than objects; they're living history, each with a captivating story. My role as an appraiser is to unveil these narratives and foster a profound connection with our heritage."
